Preparing Oracle Taleo to connect with JobWords

Preparing Oracle Taleo to connect with JobWords

Doing it yourself? These instructions are written for anyone to follow but most enterprises will already have a Taleo System Administrator employed internally or a Oracle Partner (3rd party) assisting with the configuration of Taleo Enterprise Edition - with their help you'll able to skip through some of these steps even quicker.
For JobWords to connect with the Taleo Web Service API (a secure way for the platforms to share the job data) the following tasks are required:
  1. enable Taleo Web Services on your instance of Oracle Taleo
  2. create a Taleo User Account that has Integration permissions
See below for detailed instructions on how to complete these tasks.

Once these steps have been completed

Enabling Taleo Web Services

New versions of Oracle Taleo will have Web Services enabled by default while older versions may require you to log a request with the Taleo Production Team to activate it for you upon a proof of purchase. Contact your Taleo Customer Representative or Taleo System Administrator for further details about activation.

Creating a Taleo API User

Taleo Administrator level access is required to create a Taleo User Account and manage Taleo User Types - if you do not have this level of access your Taleo System Administrator or Oracle Partner can help you
JobWords requires permission to share data from the Taleo Web Service API.

To access and use the Taleo Web Service API you will need to create or identify an existing Taleo User Account with Integration permissions.

It is recommended to set up a generic Taleo User Account for this purpose instead of adding permissions to an employee account which may be removed or changed in the future. Consider creating a user with a dedicated email address such as "integration@yourcompany.com", "taleo.api@yourcompany.com" or "taleo-web-services@yourcompany.com".
